All schedules to the Customs Tariff are covered by JET Customs Tariff.
Three unique and powerful search engines make classifying any commodity a breeze.
The Word Search facility covers every word in the Harmonized Customs Tariff, i.e., in Customs language. It allows up to four entries of 20 characters each on which to search:
The words "dentists", "chairs" and "barbers", occur in the Customs Tariff. Each occurrence of these words is shown, however, it will also instantly show you, that only one main tariff heading in the entire tariff database, i.e., 9402.00, has all four words occurring in it. This search facility is particularly valuable when attempting to classify chemicals.
Generic Word Search deals with "generic" terms, i.e., everyday words. The word "computers" does not exist in the Customs tariff.
However, in the Generic Word Search, the word "computers" automatically directs you to the starting point of "automatic data processing machines", making it quick and simple to classify even the most complicated of items.
A Chapter Index Search allows searches using the Chapter Index as the starting point, allowing you to drill down to classify a commodity.
All JET Customs Tariff information appears on your screen in the blink of the eye, saving you time and increasing your efficiency in tracking down the correct Customs Tariff Headings.
JET Customs Tariff's unique calculation feature allows you, at any time within a search, to enter an FOB value in South African Rand, (or a published foreign currency) and JET Customs Tariff instantly displays all the applicable duties (including where applicable, Schedule 1 part 2 (a) or (b), Schedules 3 or 4), VAT, the statistical unit and anti-dumping duties correctly calculated in South African Rand.
Where applicable, you may choose, simply with a radio-button, to calculate the applicable duties based on the General, EU, EFTA, MERCOSUR, AfCFTA, EPA or SADC rates of duty. (Wherever JET Customs Tariff requires additional information to complete a calculation, it prompts you for it).

JET Customs Tariff's features a powerful Product Code library that cuts down on future research time. You classify the commodity once; save the applicable tariff heading against the commodity Product Code and in future, you'll have instant access to all the information, via your familiar Product Code.
JET Customs Tariff's Tariff automatically validates each tariff heading held against a Product Code and warns you if a tariff heading is no longer valid, i.e., removed by SARS: Customs. In this case you will need to re-classify the product. The number of Product Codes that may be held is unlimited.
All that you have to do, in order to check to see if a Tariff Heading has been deleted, is to check your Product Library's "VALID" column. Any Product reflecting a "NO" in the "VALID" column, will need to be re-classified.
Customs Tariff amendments are dealt with whenever SARS: Customs publish them, usually on a Thursday afternoon and are automatically installed, from within JET Customs Tariff's
Customs Exchange Rates are updated daily and are updated in the same manner as the Tariff amendments.
JET Logistics Solutions license enables you to produce all the usual permutations of the forms required for imports and exports, for presentation, including EDI to SARS: Customs.
